The Franschhoek Mile is an outdoor open-water swimming event that requires extensive upfront planning, logistics, permits, and resource allocation. Consequently, all entry fees, ticket purchases, merchandise sales, and registrations made via https://franschhoekmile.com/ are strict, final, and non-refundable.
2. No Refunds
We do not offer cash refunds, partial refunds, or credit refunds under any circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Participant Non-Attendance: If you are unable to attend or participate in the event due to personal circumstances, injury, illness, travel complications, or scheduling conflicts.
- Event Cancellation or Postponement: If the event is forced to be postponed, modified, or cancelled due to reasons beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, safety hazards, safety concerns on the water, or directives from local authorities.
3. No Returns on Merchandise
Any event-branded merchandise, swim caps, or apparel purchased through the website are sold “as-is.”
- We do not accept returns or offer refunds for changes of mind or incorrect size selection.
- In the rare event that merchandise is delivered with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at contact@franschhoekmile.com with photographic proof so we can evaluate the issue and arrange a replacement if applicable.
4. Transfers and Substitutions
Because entries are final, you may not transfer your entry to another year. However, if you wish to substitute another swimmer in your place, please review the following:
- Any participant substitutions must be requested in writing at least 14 days prior to the event date.
- All substitutions are subject to the approval of the organizing committee and may incur a administrative processing fee.
- To request a substitution, please contact us with the original registration details and the new participant’s information.
